From the forests and spice plantations surrounding Periyar to Munnar's waterfalls, dams, tea gardens and panoramic viewpoints, this itinerary offers a wonderful combination of nature, adventure and relaxation. The journey concludes with a scenic drive back to Madurai via Bodimettu.
Day 1 – Madurai to Thekkady
Arrive in Madurai and begin your journey to Thekkady, approximately 165 km / 3.5 hours. On arrival, explore the natural beauty of the region with visits to Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, Periyar Dam, spice plantations and eco-tourism attractions. Depending on availability and choice, you can also enjoy boating, elephant rides and jungle safari. Overnight stay in Thekkady.
Day 2 – Thekkady to Munnar
After completing your Thekkady sightseeing, travel to Munnar, approximately 110 km / 3 hours. Enjoy scenic attractions along the route, including Anayirankal Dam, Chinnakanal Waterfalls, Lockhart Gap View Point, Devikulam Tea & Coffee Plantations and Skyfall View Point. Take in the spectacular mountain scenery before checking in for your overnight stay in Munnar.
Day 3 – Munnar Local Sightseeing
Spend a full day discovering the beauty of Munnar. Visit the Munnar Rose Garden, Photo Point, Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Elephant View Photo Point, Kundala Dam and Top Station. Enjoy panoramic views of rolling tea plantations, valleys and mountains before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 4 – Munnar to Madurai via Bodimettu
After completing your Munnar local sightseeing, begin your return journey to Madurai via Bodimettu, approximately 185 km / 5 hours. En route, explore attractions such as Eravikulam National Park, Pothamedu View Point, Attukad Waterfalls, 2nd Mile View Point and Sengulam Dam. Continue towards Madurai for your final drop-off.
